What Others Say

Messy to use and slow to produce a latte
Not as good as my old Krups (pump had stopped working after 4-5 years of regular use). Intended to be a replacement and upgrade, it is neither and may yet be returned. Not as intuitive as its predecessor, the 3 different cup sizes are much less convenient than the adjustable coffee basket of earlier models. After experimenting with the grind and the tamping, the espresso slowly sputters out, making quite a splattery mess to clean up.

As primarily a latte drinker, it seems the heating and frothing of the milk is so slow that espresso has cooled considerably when the milk is finally ready. And forget about trying to make two cups to enjoy together. At best the first person will be finished when the second cup is ready. 45 ... Read More

Not at all durable!
I kept my receipt when I bought this machine because I had gotten it in exchange for my previous Krups Combi Pump Espresso machine which broke down within about 6 months of my having purchased it. Needless to say, I was a little skeptical about trying Krups again but I had purchased products of theirs in the past and been satisfied overall.

So, according to the receipt I purchased the Krups Pump Espresso machine on July 18, 2008. It is now December 27th, 2008. The pump mechanism stopped working. It is completely useless.

I was pleased with the quality of the coffee initially, so I was willing to overlook the lousy seal on the water tank that had to be reset over and over again or the water would stop coming out. ... Read More

Decent cofee and reasonable price, but
Nice looking and small footprint, but the water tank is too small and the plastic gives a bit of taste that is not welcome. It is too flimsy for my taste. Every time I put the gun in, the whole machine is shaking. Decided to return back for a better, more solid machine from Breville.

Good coffee, but falls apart
I received this as a gift for Christmas 2006. We are now coming up on Christmas 2008 and it's completely broken. Through the two years I have had this, I have consistently had problems. I had to buy a new seal, I frequently have to take the seal out for rinsing (which involves a screwdriver), I've had leaks--more like pours. It is very stressful trying to fix an espresso machine for the 15th time when you haven't had any coffee! It is now beyond repair. I believe this time it is the pump (something is broken and the pressurizer can't pressurize).

I make one or two espressos a day, so I don't think I'm that hard on a machine. My previous (cheap) machine lasted five years until I gave it away in working condition when I received ... Read More

Yup, it's official Krup is Krap
Bought this to great excitement at C&B today. Then read the online reviews to some dismay. Sure enough I spent 30 minutes reading the instruction manual so I wouldn't screw it up. Then proceeded with the step by step cleaning instructions. I could not get this machine even to suck up any water at all. It just sat there grinding away nothing but the smell of overheating electrical appliance. I'm taking it back tomorrow and getting the Gaggia. Krup is krap.
