What Others Say
A Plethora of Useful Information
I have been subscribing to The Horse Journal for over 4 years and have found the articles to be very informative. This magazine has no advertising and has something for every horseperson. You'll read the latest finding on a particular health issue, questions and answers to and from the vet, and a consumer report on a particular product. I save my issues as I have had to refer back to them when an issue arises at the barn. We had one horse suffering from severe rainrot. I was able to pull the past issue that dealt with this problem and show the owner. This magazine follows much of the AAEP findings - you won't be sorry you subscribed.
One of the best
This is one of the very best horse publications available today. It is a great resource for anyone with horses regardless of their disciple.
No fluff, just informative stuff
I don't subscribe to this yet, but read a friend's issues or go to the library. Each issue is loaded with product information like a consumer's guide for the equestrian. Articles include many benefits and disadvantages of equine health products. No advertisements AT ALL, just informative, readable articles and advice.
excellent advice and product testing
This magazine offers informative and helpful articles comparing equine products useful in all disciplines. I have found the recommendations to be spot on and constructive, the charts useful and easy to read. Anyone who shops for horse items will find this magazine useful. In addition, it offers concise articles with the latest information on health care including holistic alternatives (as well doing trials of holistic products).
I have used this as a guide for years and have never been disappointed with the results. Highly recommended to all horse owners!
Love it- saves money and time.
The horse world is full of so many expensive potions and lotions, you never really now what to buy. This is kind of a horseman's Consumer Reports. They have unbiased reviews of products tested by horse people (and horses). There are no advertisements in the magazine, so they endorse or favor no one. They'll test anything from horse equipment (blankets, saddlepads, neoprene boots), supplements, riding equipment and medications. They field test everything and give you details about how equipment held up under wear and horse abuse, if a hoof lotion really did what it claimed, if a joint supplement really made a horse perform better, etc. They will also tell you where you can get the products. They have invaluable tips on general horse care, ... Read More
