My only complaint is that they get your feet a bit damp in adverse weather, but that's what boots are for. They do have vent holes for quick drying, though, just like military jungle boots. In the dry, they're the perfect shoe.

gotta have my golden yellow
I hate that this traditional piece of American icon is now made in China. I hate that I'm helping some slaveshop abuse some poor chinese kid, but my dog chewed one of my golden yellow Chucks and I need a replacement. Life is not the same without my chuckies... and my feet feel weird when I'm wearing anything else.
Now that Im breaking all my political stands, might as well buy the purple's and the other shade of green. What can I say, its the chucky addiction.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars are not just a fashion statement. Back in the day, they were my choice of athletic footwear -- following in my father's footsteps -- while starting center on the high school basketball team. For a 6'2" white guy with a moderate vertical leaping ability, I didn't have to worry about losing any spring in my step, and I always led stats in rebounds and blocked shots against players wearing the then-ubiquitous Adidas, Puma and Converse "Dr. J" hi-tops. In all fairness, and as a disclaimer, 80% of the opposing team members were white guys, too.
