Better than our previous one... almost a great coffeemaker... a few quirks.
I tried as hard as I could to find a coffeemaker that got the water hot enough to extract the flavor and caffeine from the coffee. While this one is not in the same class as a professional Bunn, it does get the water close, but not always.
We found that if you put cold water in the reservoir and make coffee directly from that, you will get random results; some good, some weak. If you use room temperature water, or leave it sit in the reservoir overnight, the coffee is more consistent brew after brew.
I use the Flavor+ button with every brew. Without it, the coffee is weaker than we like for a daily morning brew. Not to say that the coffee is strong or over-strong with the button pushed; we find it just right.

Great looks BUT critical flaw
I was really excited about this coffee maker in large part because of its design with the removable water tank. All around the coffee maker looks sharp.
However, I was disappointed rather quickly as the machine makes very weak coffee. I read through some other reviews on this site and others and apparently it's not a unique problem with my machine. Even after using the "Flavor+" button, I had weak coffee despite using two heaping tablespoons per six ounces of water. For some of you, maybe using the "Flavor+" button with large amounts of ground will be fine, but that's your risk to take. Without using the "Flavor+" button you might as well be drinking water!!!

I found this coffee maker in Consumer Reports magazine....rated a "best buy". They were absolutely correct with Michael Graves Design™ Automatic Drip Coffeemaker - Black (40304). It is the very best coffee maker I have ever owned, and at a very reasonable price as well. It is easy to fill, easy to clean, has a host of wonderful features, and best of all, it makes great coffee!!

I looked long & hard before deciding on this: it seems that every coffeemaker I buy dies or some inaccessible part acts up. This is absolutely the best-designed coffeemaker ever! The removeable water container (plastic! great!) is actually the part that had given the most problems with previous coffeemakers - problem no more!Being able to pour and leave the lid in place - the Michael Graves actually performs as intended! Finally, the Flavor+ is nice for the cheaper/less flavorful brands of coffee. My fingers are crossed that this appliance will live a full and complete life. Buy it!

I love this Michael Graves Design coffee maker and the brew it turns out. My only problem is my inability to figure out how to just set the clock rather than the timer. Will always be flashing for me. Cannot locate the instructions if someone has a clue please let me know
