What Others Say

I love this machine
This one pound bread machine is easy to use and turns out perfect bread and cakes every time. The one pound size is perfect for us (two people) but could easily satisfy a family of four or six. Watching the VHS tape before you start is highly recommended. My only recommendation: produce a DVD since a lot of folks no longer have a VHS player.

Practice makes perfect
I just compared my loaf of bread to Pepperidge Farm. Mine contains butter instead of soybean oil, NO dough conditioner, NO distilled monoglycerides, NO calcium propionate, NO soy fiber and NO soy lecithin. That's a good start.

But my first loaf using 100% whole wheat flour was disappointing, fell after rising. I tried again using my own measuring spoons instead of the included Zojirushi measuring spoon and had better luck. See the customer images for a comparison.

100% whole wheat flour is low on gluten and so it's a challenge for making bread. Next I'll try adding some "loaf improvers" (gluten) from the King Arthur Flour web site. Maybe a few sunflower seeds and some oats too.

Better than advertised!
My wife has been wanting a bread maker for quite a while, so when she finally approached me about this particular model, I was skeptical. But this was a more than pleasant surprise! Her first bread was just a normal loaf of white bread with the soft setting. Even so, I did not expect the bread to be that good, and the crust was firm but not too firm.

The next project was to make dough for anpan, which is a Japanese sweet bun filled with red bean paste (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anpan). Why hasn't it made it big yet in this country, I'll never know. In any case, she prepared the bread according to the recipe she downloaded from some bread making site, and in a little while, we were enjoying fresh hot anpan, right from the ... Read More

Best Bread Machine ever
The Zojirushi Home Bakery is super. I already made 2 loaves of bread that came out perfectly. I have been baking bread for over 15 years and would never have thought to get a bread machine, but I am throughly suprised and really enjoy using this unit. The Jam is wonderful as are the cakes. I have only had the Bakery 2 days and am cooking up a storm and my wife and children (2 of them) are eating up almost as fast as it bakes. My son loves fresh bread plan, the wife and daughter put on a little butter, and I love it with double cream and jam. Get this machine as a 1 lb loaf is a terrfic size for a family of 4.

Great breadmaker for small loafs
Very easy to use. Just add a few ingredients, wait a few hours, and you'll have great fresh bread. Lots of recipes included. We don't buy bread any more.
