Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionBodum has come up with a way to sandwich air between two layers of Pyrexlike glass, yielding pleasant-to-hold glasses that keeps espresso hot. Bodum Assam Double Wall Espresso / Shot Glasses come in a Set of 2. The perfect size for espressos or as a bar shot glass. The 3 oz capacity is is just the right size. The Assam series is styled with angled walls and a wide mouth. Bodum double wall glasses have been honored with prestigious design awards. capacity: 3 oz size: 2.5 in. diameter / 2.75 in. tall More info... Bodum's insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass that weighs less than traditional glassware. Used to make scientific lab glass, borosilicate glass (medical grade glass) is stronger than traditional ''soda-lime'' glass and can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in traditional glassware. The boron oxide acts as a glue holding the silicate together and due to the small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger glass. Some customers may perceive the glass to be ''thin'' as they hold it. It is important to explain the difference between borosilicate and soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is dishwasher safe and will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 100 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it. Simply treat it as you would any glass product and it will stand up to every day use. Dishwasher & microwave safe.

What Others Say

Wonderful Glasses
These glasses are so fun to use. They are lighweight and barely pass through any heat or cold. They feel so good in the hand when holding them. The drinking edges are very smooth and comfortable on the lips. Ice cold or steaming hot, be aware that your fingers will not warn you.

Excellent, if a bit more fragile than other glasses
I choose these over the otherwise nice Pavina style because I usually prefer to pull 1 1/2 ounce shots and I usually want a 3 oz double. They are visually fantastic - it's great to pull a shot for guests and show them the crema levels I get with my fresh roasted beans. They keep the espresso warmer than most glasses, though for the best heat retention you'll want to preheat with water or steam. Since espresso is best right away this is less important in this size though! I have the cappuccino size version of these as well as the Pavinas -- the Assam versions are easier to hold and thus drink from and clean. The wide opening helps catch both streams of espresso from my machine, too. It didn't keep me from breaking one on the edge of the sink ... Read More
