Works Best Brewing 10 Cups - Not Piping Hot
My husband and I enjoy this coffee maker. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it keeps coffee hotter if you make the full 10-cups at a time. I use refrigerated creamer, so my mug of coffee will not be piping hot, but it's hot enough for me. Taking the carafe off the plate after the brew is finished keeps it warmer longer. For those that like piping hot coffee, the Mr. Coffee model we had before with the heated plate will keep it really hot, but may also burn the coffee. The carafe does pour slowly, but I have never had a problem. It is a little difficult to clean out. I usually use a bottle brush. Returned it immediately
We bought this out of desperation at Wal-Mart. There were two features misssing from this I immediately noticed that I did not realize just looking at the box. 1) There is no warming plate. Unlike other coffee pots by just about every other manufacturer, this one has no warming plate. Sure enough, about an hour after the first cup it was just a little too cold and I needed to put the coffee in the microwave. 2) It pours slowly. This may not seem like a big deal, but first thing in the morning I just want to pour my coffee and go. Granted you can pop the lid off and pour it faster, but it just was one of those little annoyances.

Makes nasty coffee!
First, the good about this maker - the program mode is easy to use and works perfectly, and (at least for us) the thermal carafe kept the coffee nice and hot for at least an hour.
However, the bad of this maker is enough to make us give up on it after a month. Basically, there's no way to keep this clean. First, the carafe itself holds onto the smell of stale cofee no matter how hard you scrub it. This goes away if you put it in the dishwasher, but that causes dishwater to seep into the insulation and slosh around. This is bad enough if you're brewing into a smelly carafe, but doubly bad if you use the carafe to carry the water from the faucet to the maker - recycled stale coffee water! Carafe doesn't keep coffee warm
We have owned this coffee maker for nearly a year and it just quit on us. I was about to get a new coffee maker anyway since the thermal carafe didn't keep coffee hot worth a darn. Even after warming the carafe, the coffee wouldn't stay hot for more than 20 minutes max. I did just get a cuisinart and that carafe keeps the coffee HOT for hours!
A Waste of money
This coffee maker is a big waste of money. It lasted less than 6 months, doesn't keep the coffee hot in the thermal carafe, and often over flows all over my counter with grounds and coffee going everywhere. I'm going out to get another coffee pot today and it won't be a Mr. Coffee.
