Great value out of a cheap pasta cooker
We've been using this cheap pasta cooker for over 3 years, and it is great. It's nonstick so it's easy to clean, and the lid locks on so that you can strain hot pasta safely. The only problem that I've found is that if you have damaged or warped the pot in any way it might be difficult for the lid ever to work properly. But, hey, at this price it's not that big of a dealbreaker. You might have trouble getting the lid off a few times in the beginning -- just run cold water over the pot until you can get it off. After a few meals, it should go on and come off just fine. I bought a different style pasta pot by Tramontina at least seven years ago. I don't know if it is still available. I think it has held up quite well to relatively heavy use. My pot is a sauce pan style with a locking lid. There is a little wear to the nonstick coating up near the top, possibly from the cover or stacking with other pots. I would buy other products from this company.
Don't buy
Used the pot and couldn't get the top off. Got the top off by prying the ears back and damaging the coating. The ears that hold the pot down are too big for the grooves on the pot itself.
Locking lid is a must!! Great Pot!
This pasta pot cost less than 20 bucks and it is wonderful! All of the other pasta lids don't lock so you dump your spaghetti right down the drain! This is also teflon coated and it has held up well. I bought this pasta pot about 3 years ago and I have never used anything else ever sense.
