I bought this food processor for my husband. He is the cook in the family. He loves the food processor and it has saved him a lot of time in the kitchen.
Better Than The Higher Priced Ones
I've owned this food processor for several years, and also own a more expensive one [Kitchen type] and I always reach for the Hamilton Beach. It is lighter in weight [though it has plenty of heft and sits nicely on the counter] Assembly is quick and simple, straightforward, and doesn't take half an hour to set up, and does the job quickly and efficiently. Isn't that really all we want? It has never failed, whether it is chopping fruit or nuts, making pesto, making dough. I use the Pulse feature a lot, as it will grind up cranberries in about 3-4 pulses. And pesto takes no longer. A snap to use! Great for the price
When faced with the option of spending $100 or $30 got a processor of this capacity, I figured I would be crazy not to at least try the $30 (I went to my local Target to avoid the shipping fees). So far, I'm happy, but will likely upgrade in the next year or too. The aesthetic, low profile and weight are all excellent--no complaints.
I've used the slicing disk to cut a variety of vegetables with no real complaints. It has handled everything with relative ease--some smash up on the sides, but a million times faster and more consistent than by hand.
I haven't used the grating disk, but I'm skeptical of this feature in general.

An excellent value.
This is the most inexpensive six-cup food processor I've found. I've used it with many different foods (vegetables, herbs, nuts, etc.) and it's worked perfectly.
It's basic, but works well, is solidly constructed, and an absolute bargain at this price. I highly recommend it to anyone who's reluctant (or unable to) commit to a more expensive, higher-end model.
