What Others Say
Cuisinart DC 1100 12 cup makes good coffee
This is an excellent coffee maker. We don't use the automatic time feature but everything else has worked as advertized. The automatic off has illiminated our previous problem of forgetting to turn the pot off. The coffee seems to taste better, possibly due to the built-in water filter. Filling can be difficult depending on where you keep the unit. The side mounted level indicator is not easy to see in dim light. A floating bead would have been a nice addition. I miss the flip up cover of our old pot. Made it handy to return part of a cup to heat back up.
DON'T BUY THIS!
I recently purchased this item from my local Lowe's store. (it is just over the 30 day limit to return an item) It has produced about 4 pots of coffee before it died. When calling Cuisinart for help, I was given a big run around by a women who named herself Kimberly. Even after I explained that the unit was dead, she was trying to explain to me that I would need to decalcify the coffee maker. I couldn't get thru to her that the coffee maker was dead. I got nowhere with her or with Cuisinart. I now own a $70 paper weight and will NEVER buy another Cuisinart product again!
Excellent coffee maker
This coffee maker replaced a great old Braun that had finally given up. I did a little research and picked this one because of the good reviews. They proved to be true - it makes excellent coffee that's HOT! I like the fact that it has a way to let it know that you are making only a small amount so that the coffee is as good as if you were brewing a full pot. The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are the ones mentioned in previous reviews - the coffee basket doesn't sit on the counter for easy filling, and the water "tank" is not easy to fill. It's really set up for a left-handed person as you have to turn the machine sideways to see the water level gauge on the right side as you're filling it with your left hand. But those are just minor ... Read More
nice coffee maker
Very nice coffee maker for a nice price. Really, have nothing but praise for this item.
Great coffeemaker for common coffee drinkers
My red Cuisinart adds a nice color splash to my countertop. The maker is easy to use and program. I appreciate the auto-off and set mine for four hours. The controls are easy to push and see. I really like the five beeps that tell me the coffee is ready and the two beeps that tell me when it is automatically shutting off. The coffee is very hot and tastes just right. While saying this, keep in mind that I do not subscribe to the gourmet coffees and expensive coffee shops that are currently popular. I enjoy a nice supermarket brand of coffee, occasionally brewing some flavored packets such as Berres Brothers, Door County Coffee, or Harry and David.
