Cheap Plastic Buttons Fall Apart After 6 Months!!!
Unlike the older Sonicare models, this one has a cheap rubber green button that disintegrates after 6 months of usage. Five months into my brushing, it started fraying, grew holes, and popped out. I tried using superglue to keep it attached, but it was hopeless - by six months it had broken off completely and couldn't be glued back. Without the green covering, I resorted to using a metal rod to poke at the button to get it to start. Then the brush started vibrating even after I had turned it off (apparently it will work only with the green button!) Unfortunately, I lost my receipt and couldn't prove it was still under warranty, so I was out over $100!! Now I see the same type of cheap rubber is being used for the Sonicare FlexCare model. BRUSHHEAD FALLS OFF
Was so wanting this brush.
The Flexcare looked so great,
all was fine during the slower break in time,
but as soon as it was over, and it began going faster,
Now each time I use it, while brushing the brushhead keeps falling off , over and over again.
I put it back on and continue to brush and it falls off again, I have not heard of others with this problem ?? But not fun. Thank you
Buy It!
My first Sonicare was the IntelliClean model. I hated it. It was huge for one thing, like holding a tree limb. I could never find replacement heads or the toothpaste that was supposed to go in it either (not even at the Wal Mart I bought it at!) except online.
This however, is an exceptional toothbrush. I love it. Sorry Amazon but I bought it new on Ebay for $109 after shipping. It's very small and not near the hassle to keep clean like my other one was. I'm still experimenting with the different cleaning modes but I really like the variety offered, particularly the massage mode. I also love the fact that it came with one large brush head and an addititonal small one that I can reach the backs of my back teeth with. I really like ... Read More
Great design, but doesn't clean as well as Advance
I upgraded from an Advance 4000-series, for three reasons: battery was dying, gunk in head was awful, the base was getting calcified and difficult to clean even with CLR.
The FlexCare has so many positives. Everyone has listed them here, and I can't add anything new. The design is wonderful, the gunk is 95% reduced, the charger base is nice and small.
However, it doesn't clean as well as the Advance. The nice large brush area on the Advance just BLASTED my teeth clean. For four years my dentist was amazed at how clean my teeth were (and I barely flossed).
On the other hand, the Flexcare's much smaller (and spikier) head just doesn't clean as well. I have a quadrant in my mouth that the brush just won't clean, ... Read More
Back from the dentist clean
I have used other electric toothbrushes in the past, but always ended up switching back to a conventional toothbrush because I felt like they never cleaned my teeth well enough. My dentist recommended I try a sonicare brush for an even better cleaning. However, I waited for years to purchase one because I thought the price was too much and I figured I could do just as good a job myself. Lately, I decided to go ahead and give it a try and I am sooo happy I did. I immediately noticed a difference in the brightness of my teeth, and they were soooo clean, as if I had just returned from the dentist. The sonicare brush also made it easy to get the teeth further back in my mouth really clean. This is definitely a great investment and I would recommend ... Read More
