Does not support Vista 64 bit OS
Ok, I can't actually review the product since it does not work on my Vista Premium 64 bit OS. This was an annoying surprise, because in a review from a PC site and on the box itself it says it supports windows Vista. It does, but only Vista 32 bit Home basic.
This is why they should have a new name for the 64 bit Vista OS because software programs often state requires Vista, but do not clarify which bit version.
They should all be this good !
They shipped so fast, I thought they read my mind. It is a great product-easy to operate- does the job right.
Acronis, move over...
I've only used Paragon Drive Backup 8.5 one time. But I'm an experienced user of backup software. (I was using Ghost before Norton acquired the company. And I started using Acronis when they came out with version 6.) I must say, my first experience with Paragon Drive Backup 8.5 was a good one. The disk is bootable so I can access a crashed system. The partition manager allows me to browse the partitions and back up individual files or folders to any device or partition on the system. I cloned a hard drive to a partition on another drive. And it booted without error! (W2K) This program is one I would recommend to anyone who does backups, partitioning, and cloning and wants something practical instead of glamorous.
