Slow cooker that cooks too quickly but still worth the money !
OK so this is a great slow cooker .. it needs to be on a timer ... it's not one you can put on in the morning and it slowly simmers all day .. it, even on the lowest setting gets too hot and doesn't quite boil but gets too hot for the settings ...
That said we think it's excellent as it means that if you've left it a little late then it cooks quickly but nicely !!
So whilst it cooks far to quickly it's a great size it cleans really easily and fits enough in for a family of four with great ease. We've cooked a whole chicken in it and it was delicious !! So we have recified the problem by putting it on a timer and adjusting the times ... not great but trust me worth it for this little pot !!

Best slow cooker
This has been the best slow cooker I have every used. My First one I got about 15 years ago and I wore it out. I have bought 4 more since. My mom took one from me. So I am only left with 3 now. They are great for parties and holidays. You cook your food and turn the cooker down and it keeps everything warm in one dish for as long as you need it to. Also love how easy it is to clean.
Good cooking utensil
This is the second West Bend Oblong Shaped Slow Cooker I have owned. The first one lasted 20 years and I paid $20.00 for it and it was a 6- quart. I used it a great deal through the years. I highly recommend West Bend 84905 5-Quart Oblong-Shaped Slow Cooker. In my search, I found it was not carried in any of the local stores and could only be purchased online.
Wondeful Slow Cooker
I wore out my West Bend cooker of some 20 years ago, bought one for my dad, and sister and two friends.
This item is sturdy, versatile, easy to maintain, and reliable. Better suited to large pieces of meat like whole chickens because of the shape.
The only negative is the short cord length.
